KUALA LUMPUR: A tapir's unexpected appearance on the streets of Terengganu has sparked a wave of concern among social media users, raising questions about its safety and well-being.
In a 26-second video posted by @hafizfauzi_12, the lone tapir was seen wandering along the dimly lit streets before darting across the road, leaving bystanders startled.
Driven by curiosity, the motorcyclist then made a U-turn and tailed the tapir, showing it galloping away into the middle of another street.
In the caption, Hafiz cheekily likened the tapir's presence to that of a panda, referencing the similar color scheme of both animals.
With nearly 700,000 views and 50,000 likes, the video stirred emotions among viewers, with many expressing sympathy for the lost tapir.
