KUALA LUMPUR: A video showcasing the touching surprise of a caring aunt for her grieving nephew has touched the hearts of countless netizens.

The heartwarming TikTok video, uploaded by @hayati.ahmd, unfolds with the young boy named Amsyar, who recently lost his father, receiving a puffer jacket from his affectionate aunt.

While Amsyar was trying on the jacket, one of the family members was heard saying: "It is for school, now is the rainy season. That's what the jacket is for."

Later, the boy's aunt, known as Mak Ngah, popped the question: "Do you want to follow Mak Ngah to Korea?"

To which Amsyar replied: "...Boleh je (sure)."

Amidst the conversation, Mak Ngah revealed that she has already purchased a flight ticket for Amsyar.

Overwhelmed with gratitude and surprise, Amsyar breaks into tears, immediately embracing his aunt, while his cousin, Kimi, joins in for a hug.

Amsyar: Hah? Dah (you bought it already)?

Mak Ngah: Yes.

The accompanying caption of the video disclosed the recent loss of Amsyar's father on Nov 29. Despite the family's impending trip to Korea on Dec 7, Mak Ngah said she couldn't bear the thought of leaving Amsyar alone.

"Abang passed away on Nov 29 and we are travelling to Korea on Dec 7. I cannot bear to let him stay with mom and dad after he has been staying with us for years since my (late) brother became a single father.

"He must be lonely when we are away for a week," read the caption.

Netizens then flooded the comments section with sympathy and appreciation for the aunt's incredible gesture of support during such a trying period.
