KUALA LUMPUR: A video of a man and his cat running together in the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) 2023 Boost Juice 10km run has captured the hearts of onlookers and gone viral on TikTok.
The video posted by TikTok user, @jibek.hikers.cat on Oct 1, showed spectators and fellow runners in awe as they witnessed the duo taking part in the run together.
In the video, the cat, known as Jibek, remained remarkably composed on his owner's (Apak) shoulder, displaying his characteristic scowl which was somehow endearing throughout the entire 10km run.
This was not the first time Jibek had joined his owner in runs. They have become a familiar sight at various running and marathon events.
With over 33,200 views and heartwarming comments that followed, the video quickly became viral on the social media platform.
The comments section was filled with praise and admiration for the pair.
A TikTok user, who goes by @Lyna, said in jest that she felt 'ashamed' of the cat for not being as active as Jibek in joining the marathon.
"Steady. Congrats Apak & Jibek!!" said TikTok user, @QistinaSyahirah, congratulating them.
@Lady_Ann also commented: "Very good boy, Jibek."
