MARAN: A Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student was killed after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car at Bandar Jengka junction near here yesterday.

Ahmad Imran Aiman Md Mubin, 23, an undergraduate at the UiTM campus in Jengka here, succumbed to his injuries on the spot in the 9.15pm accident.

Maran police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohamad Zamri Mohamad Zaber said prior to the incident, Ahmad Imran was riding his Yamaha motorcycle from the UiTM campus towards Jengka town.

"While riding along the straight road, a Nissan car driven by a woman, had suddenly exited a junction on the right side of the stretch resulting in an accident. Investigations revealed the motorcyclist had crashed into the front passenger's side.

"Ahmad Imran died on the spot while the car driver and her daughter suffered light injuries and were treated at Jengka Hospital. Police will record the statement from the car driver to facilitate investigations," he said, adding the case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Zamri said the 64-year-old car driver, her 24-year-old daughter and Ahmad Imran were all from Bandar Jengka here.
