KUBANG PASU: A powerful storm with strong winds uprooted trees and damaged seven houses across Kubang Pasu earlier today.

The storm, which struck at 2am and lasted for 35 minutes, affected various locations, including Kampung Kota Si Puteh, Kampung Kandis, Pida Dua, Kampung Malau, Kampung Teluk Malik, Kampung Changkat Setol, Napoh, Pida, Guar Napai, Kampung Macang Manis, and Kodiang.

Kubang Pasu Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Captain (PA) Mohd Adenin Suhaimi said that rescuers were dispatched to the affected locations after receiving distress calls at 2.59am.

"Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds impacted several areas. The 35-minute storm caused significant damage to several houses due to fallen trees," he said.

Fallen trees also obstructed traffic in the area.

"We received reports at 2.59am, and our team promptly conducted monitoring, tree removal, and cleanup operations in the affected areas," he said.

No Temporary Evacuation Centres were activated, and the situation has since returned to normal.

"Updates will be provided as needed," he added.
