KUALA LUMPUR: TV3, the country's leading free-to-air television channel owned by Media Prima Berhad (MPB), celebrated its 40th anniversary at Telekom Museum today.

This year's anniversary theme, "Inspirasi Generasi," reflects TV3's iconic role as a trendsetter and pioneer in the television industry.

Since its launch in 1984, TV3 has remained Malaysia's preferred television station, leading the way in delivering the latest news, quality entertainment, and informative programmes.

Media Prima Television Networks (MPTN) and Primeworks Studios chief executive officer Nini Yusof said: "Forty years ago, we began our journey of delivering news, sharing stories, and entertaining families.

"Today, we celebrate TV3's growth driven by innovation, dedication, and unwavering viewer support.

"TV3 will continue to be a catalyst and leader in the media industry, fueled by creativity and ambition.

"Thank you to the TV3 family for their commitment. Let's continue this excellence for the next 40 years." she said during the launching of TV3's 40th-anniversary celebration.

She added that for the first time, Media Prima was allowing Gen Z and Millennial employees to plan an event for its 40th anniversary.

Present were MPB group managing director Rafiq Razali, MPB chief marketing officer Amir Rasyidi Johari, Big Tree Outdoor chief operating officer Stephanie Wong, and Media Prima Berhad News and Current Affairs group editor Kamaruddin Mape.

To commemorate this milestone, TV3, collaborating with Telekom Museum's Digital Art Gallery and the Telekom Malaysia Foundation has planned a series of activities throughout the month, highlighted by "Immersio: Generation Inspiration By TV3."

Open to the public from May 20 to June 9, the event features a blend of contemporary digital art exhibitions (audio & visual), an Inspiration Bazaar, and the Lights & Art Expressive Showcase, including "Intimate Concerts" by renowned local artists.

One of the attractions, Inspiration Art Showcase, features works by seven local artists transforming six rooms at the Telekom Museum with mesmerising light mapping and digital art installations.

Visitors can explore contemporary and digital art inspired by TV3's best programmes. The six local artworks include Bilik Wanita, Bilik Buletin Utama TV3, Bilik Hiburan, Bilik Raudhah, Bilik Majalah, and Bilik Drama.

"One of the artists focused on the evolution of news media from traditional TV to modern digital formats.

"Kamaruddin who is also a former news anchor, found it particularly interesting to see his 'vertical' digital self.

"This reflects the shift in news consumption from horizontal TV screens to vertical formats on modern devices," Nini said.

Looking forward, TV3 plans to diversify its programming, introduce more informative content alongside its popular news, dramas, and entertainment shows.

Additionally, TV3 is integrating artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiency and optimise operations, using data to better understand viewer preferences, she said.

Meanwhile, visitors can also explore the Inspiration Bazaar, a lively market featuring various stalls, busking sessions, and other engaging activities.

Highlights include the Intimate Concerts by famous artists with interactive digital lighting, beginning at 8pm on June 1 with Aina Abdul, followed by Dayang Nurfaizah on June 2, Naim Daniel on June 8, and Alyph on June 9.

The cast of the hit drama "Aku Bukan Ustazah" will meet fans, including Erysha Emyra, MK K-Clique, Zahiril Adzim, Syad Mutalib, Haneesya Hanee, Shaza Bae, Qistina Khaled, and Fikhree Bakar.

Fans can take photos and receive signed posters.

Prominent TV3 personalities such as Bella Astillah, Muaz Zabir, Zara Zya, Nabila Razali, Daniel Fong, Meerqeen, Fazlina Dato Ahmad Daud, Afieq Shazwan, and iconic figures like Ezzah Aziz Fauzy, Abu Bakar Atan, Saiful Nizam, and Kamaruddin Mape will make special appearances to honour loyal viewers.
