NIBONG TEBAL: Pas' Sungai Bakap assemblyman Nor Zamri Latiff was laid to rest about 6.30pm at the Muslim cemetery beside Masjid Jamek Sungai Acheh here.
Earlier, the hearse carrying his remains left Hospital Seberang Jaya (HSJ) for his home in Sungai Acheh.
He died about 1.38pm at the HSJ today, nearly a month after being treated for inflammation of the stomach.
Hundreds of family members, relatives and friends were waiting to pay their last respects when his body arrived home.
Among them were Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and members of his administration as well as the Pas leaders and members.
The coffin bearing Zamri's body was then carried to the mosque, just next to his home for prayers before burial.
There, hundreds more joined in to pay their last respects.
Also present to pay his respect was Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak.
Others present included Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
Zamri leaves behind wife Musalmah Yusop, in her 50s, and children.
