KUALA KUBU BAHARU: Being wheelchair-bound has not stopped Rosli Sarif from fulfilling his civic duty to vote in the Kuala Kubu Baharu state seat by-election today.
The 75-year-old, who has had health issues since a few years ago, came alone to the polling centre here, at SK Bandar Baru Batang Kali, earlier this morning.
Located about 500m from his house, the school is one of the 18 polling centres in the constituency during polling day today.
"Since I was young, I've never missed the chance to vote in all of the elections.
"Although I am no longer strong and my joints hurt here and there, I still want to come out and vote today," he said when met after casting his vote at the school.
Rosli advised his fellow constituents, especially the younger generation, to use the ballot box to make their voices heard.
"To the young voters, please make the right decision before you go out and vote.
"Choose the right person for a better future in our constituency," he said.
The Kuala Kubu Baharu state constituency has 40,226 registered voters comprising 39,362 ordinary voters, 625 policemen, 238 military personnel, as well as their spouses and one overseas absentee voter.
The seat sees a four-cornered fight involving Pakatan Harapan's (PH) Pang Sock Tao, Khairul Azhari Saut (Perikatan Nasional), Hafizah Zainuddin (Parti Rakyat Malaysia), and independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin.
