KUALA LUMPUR: Firemen successfully rescued a six-year-old boy who had fallen into a drain at Apartment River Dale in Bukit Antarabangsa, Ampang.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, in a statement, said the incident occurred at 8.34pm, with emergency personnel from the Pandan Indah station promptly dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, the six-men team led by Operations Commander Muhammad Firdaus Bin Wahab found the boy, with head injuries, at the bottom of a drain estimated to be about 4.57-metre deep (15 feet).

"During the rescue operation, the child was safely retrieved from the drain. He was then handed over to the relevant medical authorities for further treatment and care." the statement read.
