KUALA LUMPUR: An intercity bus travelling near Menara Great Eastern on Jalan Ampang suddenly caught fire in the middle of the road at 10.48am this morning.
City Fire and Rescue spokesman said they received a distress call about the fire at 10.48am before a team of nine firemen from the Keramat Fire and Rescue station rushed to put out the fire.
Upon arriving at the scene, the team noticed that the fire started at the rear portion of the bus and had spread to the middle of the vehicle before they doused the fire.
The operation led by Senior Fire Officer II Fahbell Md Yasin was successfully completed at 11.07am.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and fortunately, the bus was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
No casualties were reported.
