ALOR STAR: Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah graced the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration with the Sultan of Kedah and the royal family at Istana Anak Bukit here today.
The Sultanah of Kedah, Sultanah Maliha Tengku Ariff, Raja Muda of Kedah, Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin; Raja Puan of Muda Kedah, Che Puan Muda Zaheeda Mohamad Ariff; Tunku Mahkota of Kedah, Tunku Shazuddin Ariff Sultan Sallehuddin and Tunku Puan Mahkota of Kedah, Che Puan Nur Julie Ariff also grazed the event.
The Sultan, accompanied by the Sultanah and the royal family, arrived at the Balai Santapan Besar at 10.30am.
They were greeted by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor and wife Tok Puan Jusmalailani Jusoh; State Secretary Datuk Seri Norizan Khazali and wife Datin Seri Norhasni Ishak; State Assembly speaker Zubir Ahmad and state executive councillors.
Also in attendance were two former Kedah menteri besar Tan Sri Osman Aroff and Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, state and federal departments heads and state administration officers.
The New Straits Times Press (NSTP) group managing editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman; The New Straits Times (NST) group editor Farrah Naz Karim; Bernama chief executive officer Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin and media representatives in Kedah were also among the attendees.
The guests were treated with sumptuous traditional Hari Raya dishes and seized the opportunity to get up close with the royal family in the spirit of Aidilfitri celebration.
