KUALA LUMPUR: Police believe there was no foul play involved in the discovery of a body in a cement mixer at a factory in Seksyen 33, Shah Alam earlier today.

Shah Alam district police chief, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, said their preliminary investigations suggest that the death was an accident.

He said police were alerted by the public to the discovery of a man's body floating in a cement mixer just before noon today.

Checks by the Selangor police's forensic unit on the body did not show any signs of a struggle.

He said the remains were in a mutilated state due to the mixer's blades/

"The head was decapitated while the right arm had been severed from the elbow. There were no signs of a struggle or injuries which could have caused the death.

"The victim is believed to have fallen into the machine and was cut by the mixer's blades," he said in a statement today.

He said the victim was identified by his next-of-kin due to a tattoo on his left arm.

The remains were sent to the Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The case has been classified as sudden death.

Those with information on the case are urged to contact the investigating office, Inspector Mohd Shahrul Bakhri at 012-3630512.
