KUALA LUMPUR: A body was found floating in the Taman Tasik Shah Alam lake in Selangor today.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said police were alerted to the discovery at the Seksyen 14 recreational park at 8.19am by a member of the public.

Iqbal said preliminary investigation indicated that the deceased was a man without any identification and was suspected to be a foreign national as he did not have a BCG (Bacille Calmette-Guerin) vaccination scar on his left shoulder.

He said the deceased was found fully clothed in a face-down position.

"The Selangor forensic team's examination of the body revealed signs of abrasions on the neck on the right and left sides, along with minor wounds on the cheek and nose.

"There were no signs of struggle or other injuries on the body that could have caused his death," Iqbal said.

He said the body will be brought to Shah Alam Hospital for post-mortem tomorrow at 9am and the case has been classified as sudden death.
