JOHOR BARU: The Sultan Ismail Library is set to host a drive-through recycling programme on March 9 from 9am to 2pm, the Johor Baru City Council announced in a Facebook post.

This initiative encourages the community not to discard their used items but instead, to recycle them responsibly.

Participants are invited to contribute a variety of recyclable items including glass bottles, electrical appliances, electronic devices, paper, metal, and plastic bottles.

This programme isn't just about making environmentally friendly choices; it's also rewarding. By contributing recyclable goods, participants can earn KITARecycle points, which are redeemable for cash, incentivising participation in this green initiative.

Also, the programme offers a solution for excess cooking oil, a common waste product in households.

Rather than disposing of it, which can lead to environmental pollution, residents can bring their used cooking oil to the event and receive RM3 per kg, promoting the recycling of kitchen waste into useful resources.
