KUALA LUMPUR: According to the Auditor General's 2022 report, four federal agencies out of 130 have recorded higher liabilities compared to their assets in an audit analysis.

The Malaysian Highway Authority had a liability-asset difference of RM392 million, PR1MA Corporation Malaysia RM125 million, Ex-Servicemen Affairs Corporation RM13 million, and Perbadanan Perwira Harta Malaysia RM7 million.

The report also stated that the 130 federal agencies have assets worth RM2,491.931 billion, compared to RM2,409.07 billion in 2021, marking an increase of 3.4 per cent or RM82.861 billion.

Meanwhile, the liability position in 2022 for the agencies amounted to RM903.613 billion, an increase of RM119.896 billion (15.3 per cent) compared to 2021 at RM783.717 billion.

"From this total, four federal agencies have liabilities exceeding assets, which could have an impact on the commitments of the federal agencies in the future," the report stated.
