KUBANG PASU: The Fire and Rescue Department today managed to capture a 12-foot-long King Cobra in a rubber plantation near Felda Bukit Tangga, Bukit Kayu Hitam here today.

Bukit Kayu Hitam Fire and Rescue station chief Zulkifli Manaf said a team was dispatched promptly upon receiving reports of a snake menace at 9.45 am.

"Our team spent roughly 30 minutes to secure the reptile, which at the time was agitated and was nestled in a pile of rocks.

"However, with expertise and skill, our personnel were able to capture the snake using specialised equipment," he said when contacted today.

Zulkifli said that firemen successfully captured the serpent at 12.34pm.
