ROMPIN: Police are waiting for the toxicology results on the discovery of two bodies inside a locked car at the parking area of a petrol station along Jalan Kuantan-Segamat near Muadzam Shah, here, yesterday.

Rompin police chief Deputy Superintendent Nor Azman Yusof said the post-mortem examination conducted at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan yesterday classified the cause of their death as "unascertained".

"Police have yet to establish the actual cause of death. We will have to wait for the toxicology report on the bodies," he said today.

Meanwhile, Nor Azman said the bodies have been identified as a 41-year-old man from Muadzam Shah, Rompin, and his 43-year-old female passenger from Jempol, Negri Sembilan.

He said both the victims were friends.

However, it remains unclear where the duo were travelling to prior to their stop at the petrol station about 6.40am on Monday.

Earlier today, Nor Azman said police investigations found no foul play or criminal elements in the death of the duo, and the case has been classified as sudden death.
