KUCHING: Sarawak has promoted its digital economy agenda on the international stage by participating in the Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC24) in Barcelona, Spain.

According to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit, the Sarawak Utilities and Telecommunications Ministry announced in a press release that its Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi led the Sarawak delegation to MWC24.

"We are thrilled to participate in MWC24, a platform that brings together innovators, thought leaders, and industry experts from around the world.

"It is crucial for Sarawak's development plans and initiatives to be showcased on a global scale," Julaihi said.

Julaihi also inaugurated the Sarawak booth, also known as Ruai Sarawak, which displayed the Sarawak Digital Economy initiatives outlined in the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy 2030. The booth served as a platform to promote investment opportunities aligned with Sarawak's digital agenda.

"By focusing on digital initiatives and sustainable solutions, Sarawak aims to position itself as a key player in the mobile technology ecosystem, both in Malaysia and globally," he added.
