KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah)'s representative voiced apprehensions regarding criticisms made by Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang concerning the integrity of the judiciary system and the Federal Constitution.

Senator Hasbie Muda, also Amanah Youth chief, stressed the importance of respecting judicial decisions guided by the principles of the Federal Constitution, even in situations where dissatisfaction may arise.

"Despite being dissatisfied with the court's decision, Hadi, as a long-standing member of parliament, should understand that judicial decisions are based on the Federal Constitution," he said in a statement.

Hasbie pointed out a perceived shortcoming in Hadi's actions as a long-serving member of parliament, suggesting that his failure to propose constitutional amendments indicates a neglect of legislative duties.

He added that this undermines the role of parliamentarians in upholding constitutional integrity.

Hasbie was challenging Hadi's statement: "However, there are now judges who are 'clever' (not wise) whose minds are influenced by colonial writings."

The Amanah Youth chief argued it was a blatant form of disrespect towards the country's judiciary and the constitution.

Hasbie urged leaders to lead by example in upholding the sovereignty of the law and promoting respect for the judiciary.

He referenced past calls by Pas Youth during their tenure in government to accept court decisions without undermining the judiciary's credibility.

Yesterday, it was reported that Pas will study the impact of the nullification of the Kelantan Syariah criminal enactment in the next party meeting.

Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said Pas and Perikatan Nasional would give serious attention to this issue.
