KOTA TINGGI: Sedili assemblyman Muszaide Makmor hopes the federal government will expedite the allocation to upgrade Jalan Mawai which frequently gets flooded during heavy rain.
Muszaide said the road concerned is the main road for Kampung Mawai Baru residents while for Kampung Mawai Lama, it is the road to go to Tanjung Sedili and Kota Tinggi for daily chores.
"The one-kilometre stretch of road needs to be upgraded as it is easily flooded whenever there is a an overflow at Sungai Semalok," he told Bernama when met after an inspection of the road.
He said the Public Works Department (PWD) has given an estimated cost of RM20 million to upgrade the road.
According to him, Deputy Public Works Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan has also agreed to the road upgrade and hopes that it can be done sometime this year. — Bernama
