KOTA BARU: A business consultant was charged in the Sessions Court today for uploading an advertisement for the opening of a gold shop by Tengku Bendahara Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra Sultan lsmail Petra, without permission, on Oct 16, last year.

The accused Khairul Khizaini Zamsani, however, pleaded not guilty before Judge Nooriah Osman.

The 29-year-old accused was charged for using a Facebook application to create and start the transmission of advertisements for the opening of the gold shop A&K Gold And Jewellers, said to be officiated by Tengku Bendahara Kelantan which is known to be false.

The accused was alleged to have committed the offence with two others - Aznizan Yusof, 47, and Nor Asri Che Husin, 43, who were charged in court last year, at Kampung Pasir Kota here at 6.55pm on Oct 16, 2023.

Khairul was charged under Section 233 of the Multimedia Communications Act 1998 and read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code which provides a fine of not more than RM50,000 or imprisonment of not more than one year or both.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Ahmad Faiz Fitri Mohamad prosecuted while the accused was represented by lawyer Mohd Taufikrullah Rusli.

Earlier, Ahmad Faiz proposed a bail of RM10,000 for the accused, while Mohd Taufikrullah requested the court to reduce the bail amount.

The court allowed the accused to be bailed at RM8,000 with one surety with an additional condition that the accused must report to Gong Badak police station Terengganu every month.

The judge then set Feb 14 for mentionof the case.
