KOTA BARU: Tengku Mahkota Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra gifted 30 orphans new clothes ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The orphans from Pasir Mas, Bachok and Kota Baru districts were taken to a supermarket here for their Raya shopping.

The Prince who was accompanied by Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun.

Zaki said the programme was jointly organised by the Kelantan palace and state police.

"Tengku Mahkota Kelantan and the royal family are concerned about the plight of the orphans."

One of the orphans, Nik Mohd Hafiz Nik Norhisyam, 16, from Pasir Mas, said he was very excited to get the gifts.

The SMK Kampung Dangar student said he was accompanied by his mother, 41, and sister, Nik Nuraina, 14.

"My father Nik Norhisyam Nik Mansor died in 2019 due to a heart attack.

"Since then, my two siblings and I rely on my mother's income from selling traditional delicacies."

Zahran Rozlan, 19, from Rantau Panjang, thanked the Prince for his kindness.

"I could only afford to buy one set of baju melayu. Praise be to God, now I can buy more."
