SAMARAHAN: The gaming community in Samarahan is gearing up for an electrifying weekend as the Samarahan Esports Association, in collaboration with the Youth and Sports Ministry and Esports Integrated, has announced the Samarahan Esports X Championship Culture and Digital event.
Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), in a Facebook post, said that the event has been scheduled for Jan 27 to 28, with the championship being hosted at The Summer Shopping Mall in Kota Samarahan from 9am to 9pm.
Entry is free, with the event featuring three popular esports games: PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legend Bang Bang, and EAFC for PlayStation 5. Additionally, a total cash prize pool of RM10,550.00 will be up for grabs.
UKAS said the competition is open to the first 32 teams to register, offering a chance for the best gamers in the region to showcase their skills and battle it out for the top prizes.
In addition to the gaming tournament, attendees will enjoy a range of activities including a Samarahan mini digital expo, cultural performances and exhibitions, busking performances, and a mini skate competition.
