KOTA BARU: The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, has rescinded the Datukship awarded to former Community Communication Department (J-Kom) director general Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff, with effect from Dec 2 last year.

This was made known through a gazette dated Dec 28, 2023, that began circulating this morning.

"To uphold the decree of Sultan Muhammad V, it is hereby announced that His Majesty has revoked the conferment of 'Dato' Paduka' awarded to Mohammad Agus, which was bestowed upon on Nov 12, 2011.

"This revocation takes effect from Dec 2," the gazette added.

Meanwhile, efforts to get confirmation from the Kelantan Government Secretary, Datuk Nazran Muhammad, have so far been unsuccessful as any calls and WhatsApp messages have gone unanswered.
