PUTRAJAYA: An Audi car driven by an Iraqi man collided with an ambulance while it was rushing a senior citizen to Putrajaya Hospital during an emergency.

The ambulance, with its sirens blaring, did not stop at the Persiaran Perdana crossroad at 11.45pm.

The 28-year-old car driver, seeing the traffic light turned green, proceeded as usual. However, he failed to notice the approaching ambulance, resulting in a collision with the ambulance. The impact caused the ambulance to overturn onto its side.

Two medical assistants in the ambulance sustained injuries. The car driver, ambulance driver, the 74-year-old patient and another passenger were unharmed.

Putrajaya police chief Assistant Commissioner A Asmadi Abdul Aziz confirmed the incident and said the case is being investihgated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act.

He urged eyewitness to aid in the investigation.

It was learnt that the urine test of the car driver came back negative.

Earlier, a viral video posted on X by @nanmanjoi8715, showed aftermath of the high-speed collision between the car and ambulance, resulting in significant damages to both vehicles.

The video received over 100,000 views.
