KUALA LUMPUR: Netizens are infuriated over videos of a car refusing to make way for an ambulance which was transporting a patient to Penang from Perak.

Hazwan Rosly, who shared the incident in the community Facebook group Sungai Dua Butterworth, wrote: "My friend's father is ill. He needs to be taken to Pantai Hospital in Penang from Perak.

"While travelling on the North-South Expressway heading to Penang, there was a Myvi blocking the ambulance and refused to give way."

The post saw angry comments by netizens, mostly irked by the Myvi driver.

User Arma Nizam wrote, "Selfish. Pretending to be blind or deaf. Remember, one day it'll come back to us…if not to us directly, it'll happen to our family."

User Ho Chea Khai wrote, "He will taste the same medicine one day when his/her loved ones or himself/herself are in an ambulance."

User Daniel Danny, however, said the ambulance driver should opt for the emergency lane, instead of using the far right lane.

"It is fine to record the video, but doesn't the ambulance have the authority to use the emergency lane? The most right lane seems busy, hence it is best to use the emergency lane."
