KUALA NERUS: It's been a week since the tragic passing of Nor Faizuamee Zulkifli, 37, who perished in an accident just a day before her 11th wedding anniversary.

Still reeling from her death, Faizuamee is survived by her husband, Mohd Syawal Arifin@Abd Rahman, 34, and three young children. Two of their children are now under Mohd Syawal's care, while his in-laws help to care for the youngest child who is just two years-old.

The accident happened at around 5pm on Monday (Oct 16), when the motorcycle that she was riding was involved in a collision with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at Bandar Baru here.

When the accident happened, Nor Faizuamee was on the way from her mother's house at Taman Perumahan Kampung Alur Jambu to fetch their eldest child Muhammad Firash Ammar Mohd Syawal, 9, from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Padang Air.

According to Mohd Syawal, two days before the accident that claimed her life, Nor Faizuamee was rather quiet and subdued.

"What is even more heart-wrenching is the fact that the accident was a day before our eleventh wedding anniversary," he said when met at his in-law's family home at Taman Perumahan Kampung Alur Jambu.

Mohd Syawal, who works as a lorry driver, said that it was his late wife's routine to send and fetch their children from school.

"When the accident happened, I was at work and I rushed over to the scene of the accident after I found out what had happened. The loss is very painful, but I accept what has happened as fated by Allah S.W.T and I will raise and look after our dear children to the best of my abilities.

"For the time being, Muhammad Firash Ammar and younger brother Muhammad Faris Amsyar, 6, are still staying with me under my care in Kampung Bukit Berangan, Tepuh, while our youngest child Nur Falisha Adlyna, 2, is currently living with my in-laws," he said.

Earlier, Mohd Syawal was visited by the Terengganu state Social Security Organisation (Socso) Care Squad led by director Farihah Che Husin.
