Kuala Lumpur: "My brother was involved in a plane crash in Subang (Elmina, Shah Alam), is there a close friend who can help identify the body?

The message was written by Norhikmah Muhammad Salleh, 26, whose older brother was reported to have died in the Elmina plane crash at about 2.40pm yesterday.

Her brother, Muhamad Hafiz Muhamad Salleh, 32 is believed to be the motorcyclist who was hit by the aircraft.

Norhikmah and her family were believed to be on her way from Sungai Petani, Kedah to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang, Selangor last night, when she posted the message.

"I am the younger sibling of Muhamad Hafiz. My brother was involved in a plane crash in Subang. Is there a close friend who can head to the Klang District Police Headquarters to identify the body.

"The family are traveling from the north (Taman Sidam Kiri, Sungai Petani, Kedah)," she said in a short message sent to a WhatsApp group used by p-hailing workers based in Subang Bestari, here.

Muhamad Hafiz was a p-hailing worker who happened to pass by the area when the plane was crashing.

The private plane took off from Langkawi, Kedah and was expected to land at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS) in Subang, at 2.50pm, but crashed two minutes before the landing time.

Meanwhile, Norhikmah when contacted said the news of her brother's passing was only known after her family received a phone call from the authorities, right after the Maghrib prayer.

She and her family admitted that they were shocked by the incident that happened to his brother, but they accepted God's will.

"Mother and father told us to remain calm and asked us to pray for all his affairs to be made easier.

"We have arrived at Sungai Bakap, Penang and are heading to HTAR in Klang for the identification of my brother's deceased.

"My brother's body will be brought home to be buried at Taman Sidam Kiri, Sungai Petani, as soon as all procedures are completed," she told BH last night.

Norhikmah said Muhamad Hafiz, who is also the eldest of the five brothers, expressed his desire to return to the village to prepare for the feast when he contacted his father last week.

"Brother said he wants to go home on August 20 because we want to make preparations for my sister's wedding which is scheduled to take place on August 26.

"However, God loves my brother more. Although he is quiet and strict, he is very loving," she said.
