KUALA LUMPUR: Pahang state assembly speaker has confirmed that Pahang state executive council member Datuk Seri Johari Harun was on board the plane that crashed in Elmina, Shah Alam today.

Johari's personal assistant Idris Abdol Talib @ Ramali, 41, was also among those on board the aircraft along with two crew members.

Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin in a Facebook post said: "Johari was in the plane that crashed at Elmina, Shah Alam. May God bless his soul. Al-Fatihah."

Johari, who is the state Local Government, Housing, Environment and Green Technology Committee chairman, was in the plane which departed Langkawi International Airport at 2.08pm and was en route to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.

The 53-year-old Johari, a first-term Pelangai assemblyman, is believed to have gone to Langkawi earlier today along with other Pahang state executive council members.

Ten people perished in the crash including a car driver and a motorcyclist who were hit by the ill-fated aircraft.
