KUALA LUMPUR: Police have confirmed that a small plane crashed in the City of Elmina, Shah Alam near here about 3pm.

The plane was believe to be enroute from Langkawi to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport in Subang when it is believed to have encountered difficulties and crashed onto the highway.

Unconfirmed reports said four people were believed to have been killed in the incident.

Pictures and videos of the crash site have since been making the rounds, where a burnt out, smoking section of the highway can be seen.

The Civil Aviation Authority, when contacted, said it would be issuing a statement soon.
