KUALA LUMPUR: The voting process at all polling stations for the elections in all six states is under control, without any untoward incidents.
As of 2pm today, no police reports of untoward incidents were received involving any of the voting centres or processes.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain extended his compliments and appreciation to the public who have been carrying out their duty peacefully without flouting any of the laws or disrupting public safety.
"This clearly shows that the community, especially in all the states involved in the elections, have been cooperative in making sure the voting process runs peacefully without any hiccups," he said, urging those who have not cast their votes to go out and vote before closing time.
Razarudin had been monitoring the voting process via teleconference at the Bukit Aman Command Control Centre.
In the teleconference, he focused on the personnel assigned as part of Op Cantas in all six states.
Meanwhile in Shah Alam, the voting process for the Selangor election is going smoothly.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the atmosphere and situation around the polling centres, as of 2pm, was under control and running smoothly.
"No unusual traffic congestion was reported. I would also like to call on the public to go out and vote to fulfill their responsibilities," he said when contacted.
Hussein said candidates and supporters are also advised to comply with all the rules and regulations that have been set by the authorities.
"Strict action will be taken against any party that commits any offence," he said.
