KUALA LUMPUR: An aide to DAP central executive committee member Young Syefura Othman has lodged a report against a social media influencer for allegedly sexually harassing the Bentong member of Parliament.
The aide, Noor Suhana Ishak, confirmed that the report was lodged at the Bentong district police headquarters in Pahang today.
"Report done. YB (Young Syefura) will issue a statement later today," said Noor Suhana in a posting on her Twitter account today.
According to a report by FMT, the male influencer is alleged to have made inappropriate comments in a clip that was uploaded on his TikTok account about Young Syefura's clothing and body when commenting on a speech she made during a ceramah in Kedah on Saturday.
"The remarks were rude, humiliating and have damaged her (Young Syefura) reputation," said the aide in the report.
Noor Suhana was quoted as saying in the FMT report that such sexist behaviour should not be tolerated.
"We can always agree to disagree. However, it must be based on facts. This influencer is using sexist and vulgar words," she said in a post on her Twitter account.
