KUANTAN: A total of 2,268 flood victims from 655 families are still housed in 16 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) in Rompin and Maran, as of 8am this morning.

The Pahang State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said this was a slight decrease compared to 2,353 victims from 685 families, yesterday evening.

Rompin remained the district with the highest number of flood victims with 2,255 people from 653 families while there were 13 victims from 2 families in Maran.

Meanwhile, based on information on the website of the Drainage and Irrigation Department, the Keratong River at Bahau Bridge, Keratong, Rompin is still recording water level readings above the danger level, as of 8 am this morning.

The water levels of two rivers, namely Sungai Pahang in Paloh Hinai, Pekan and Sungai Bera at Sungai Bera Bridge, have exceeded the warning level, while Sungai Pahang in Lubuk Paku, Maran has exceeded the caution level.
