KUANTAN: A total of 2,317 victims from 706 families have been evacuated to 22 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) in six districts, as of 8 am this morning.

Pahang State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) Secretariat said that six districts affected by the inundation are Rompin, Temerloh, Maran, Pekan, Bera and Jerantut.

Yesterday evening, the number of flood victims involved comprised 2,271 people from 691 families in 23 PPS.

Based on the records, Rompin recorded the highest number of victims with 1,905 people, followed by Temerloh (254 people), and Pekan (106 people), while Bera, Maran and Jerantut, respectively recorded a total of 29 people, 13 people and 10 people.

Meanwhile, four rivers in Pahang recorded readings above the danger level as of 8 am today.

The rivers in question are Sungai Keratong in Bahau Bridge, Keratong in Rompin; Sungai Pahang in Paloh Hinai, Pekan; Sungai Pahang in Lubuk Paku, Maran and Sungai Triang in Bera.

Sungai Jempol at Felda Jengka, Maran; Sungai Bera at the Sungai Bera Bridge, Bera and Sungai Lipis in Batu Malim, Raub exceeded the warning level.

The water level in the six rivers that exceeded the alert level is in Sungai Belat in Seri Damai and Sungai Lepar in Gelugor Bridge, Kuantan.

The others are Sungai Pahang in Kampung Chenor, Maran; Sungai Pahang at the Waterfront, Bera; Sungai Pahang in Lubuk Pasu and Sungai Semantan at the railway bridge, Mentakab in Temerloh.
