KUANTAN: Pahang recorded 594 flood victims from 132 families placed at five temporary flood relief centres (PPS) in two districts as of 8am this morning.

State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said the two districts involved are Kuantan and Raub.

Four PPS have been opened here, namely Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai Karang, SK Beserah, SK Sungai Ular and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Pelindung involving 554 victims from 119 families.

In Raub, there are 40 victims from 13 families who are seeking shelter at the Dewan Kampung Pia PPS.

Meanwhile, according to the Drainage and Irrigation Department's website, Sungai Keratong at Jalan Kota Bahagia, Rompin recorded a worrying water level exceeding the danger level as of 8am this morning.

Sungai Keratong recorded a reading of 11.75 metres (m) where the danger level is 11 metres.

There are two rivers that have reached warning level, Sungai Lipis at Batu Malim, Raub and Sungai Luit Luit at Kampung Subuh, Maran.

There are eight rivers that have recorded water level readings at cautionary level, Sungai Jelai in Kuala Medang, Sungai Jelai at the Lipis Jetty, Lipis, Sungai Dong at Kampung Peruas, Raub; Sungai Triang in Triang, Bera; Sungai Serting at Jambatan Padang Gudang, Bera; Sungai Kuantan at Pasir Kemudi and Sungai Belat in Seri Damai, both in Kuantan.
