KUALA TERENGGANU: The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd (NSTP) won six award categories at the 2022 Terengganu Media Appreciation event here last night.

Organised by the Darul Iman Information Secretariat (UPDI) awards presented included for Print Media Awards category, Best News and Best Photo while for the Digital Media Awards it involved Best News, Best Photo and Best Videos categories.

NSTP photographer, Ghazali Kori stole the spotlight when he won second place in the Best Digital Media Video category, taking home a trophy and RM2,000 in cash.

Ghazali also won two more categories coming in third place in the category of Best Print Media Photo category (RM1,000 and trophy) and Best Digital Media Photo category (RM1,000 and trophy).

Harian Metro's stringer, Malik Muhammad, won second place for the Best Digital Media News category with the headline 'Terengganu Anjur Sukan Patuh Syariah Pertama di Malaysia'. He took home a cash prize of RM2,000 and a trophy.

Berita Harian stringer Nurul Fatihah Sulaini won third place in the Best Print Media News category with the headline 'Pantulan Cahaya Bluepool Memukau' and took home a prize of RM1,000 and a trophy.

Another Harian Metro stringer, Muhammad Nazdy Harun, won fifth place in the Best Print Media News category and took home a cash prize of RM500.

The prizes were presented by State Legislative Assembly Speaker, Datuk Yahaya Ali. Also present were the Chairman of the State Human Development, Dakwah and Information Committee, Mohd Nor Hamzah and UPDI Director, Mohd Soud Said.

At the event, well-known independent speaker Ustaz Azhar Idrus also received the Influential Media Person Award while actor, Eman Manan received the Celebrity Social Media Influencer Award.
