PUTRAJAYA: Virtual Covid-19 Assessment Centres (CAC) will be developed soon to enable healthcare workers to observe asymptomatic cases, namely those with light symptoms as well as patients in Category 1 and 2, online.

Health deputy director-general (public health) Datuk Dr Chong Chee Kheong said with the virtual CAC, patients were not required to be physically present at the existing CACs for monitoring purposes.

"A digital Home Surveillance Order (HSO) will also be issued via the MySejahtera app or other apps which becomes a legal (binding) matter, although the patients will not be given wristbands. This means they must be at home," he said during a special press conference at the ministry headquarters today.

Dr Chong, who heads the Greater Klang Valley Task Force as its Unified Command Centre commander in Selangor, said this was decided at a meeting with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
