KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to have his statement recorded at Bukit Aman tomorrow over the purported list of members of Parliament whom he claimed had thrown their support behind him to become the next prime minister.

Federal Criminal Investigations Department (CID) director Datuk Huzir Mohamed said 113 police reports were lodged against Anwar to date over the said claim.

He said investigations were conducted under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for statements conducing to public mischief with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public where by any person may be induced to commit an offence against the State or against the public tranquillity and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for improper use of network facilities or network service.

"Police are still conducting further investigations regarding the claim which has been widely spread in the media," he said in a statement today.

Huzir also advised the people to refrain from distributing or publishing any statements or rumours or any news that could spark unrest, disunity, animosity wbich could disrupt public order.

Last Tuesday, Anwar was granted an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, to present his claim of having the majority support of MPs to form a new government and later told media that he had submitted documents to back up his claim.

Istana Negara, however, later said the opposition leader did not present any list, but only informed the King on the numbers he claimed he had of those who supported him.
