A noodle factory in Kepala Batas was razed in a fire for the second time.

KEPALA BATAS: The same noodle processing factory that caught fire a few days ago, was engulfed in flames again this morning.

A state Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson confirmed receiving an emergency call about the fire at 2.53am, saying firefighters from the Kepala Batas, Bertam and Perai fire stations were deployed immediately to the scene.

“The fire razed the factory’s storage area and about 80 per cent of the factory was destroyed,” the spokesperson added.

Last Sunday, it took more than eight hours for firemen to douse the fire that razed the factory, which was closed as its staff were reported to be away attending a team-building seminar in Ipoh for several days.

The factory has 150 employees, including foreign workers, some of whom lived nearby.

Firefighters from the Bertam, Kepala Batas and Kuala Muda fire stations rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 3.30am and voluntary firemen from Kepala Batas also came in six fire engines to assist in putting out the fire. The fire was put out nearly noon.
