MIRI: Two settlements in Miri were hit by flash floods which lasted five hours, starting at 8pm last night.
The affected areas were Kampung Lambir, here, and Kampung Lusut in Taman Tunku Miri.
Zone 6 Fire and Rescue Department head Law Poh Kiong said water only receded at 2am when the rain stopped.
“The flood situation in the areas is under control and no residents have been evacuated," he said here today.
Law added that some other settlements in the area were also inundated by flood waters but not as severe.
