NILAI: A fastfood restaurant employee received nine stitches after a ceiling fan fell on him today.

The 12.20pm incident took place as the victim was settling his traffic summons at the Traffic Summons counter at Dataran Nilai, here.

Nilai deputy district police chief Deputy Superintendent Azrul Hisham Mohd Shaffie said the 39-year-old sustained injuries on his head, requiring him to receive medical treatment.

“During the incident, the victim was making payment at the traffic summons counter, when the ceiling fan mounted in the tent broke and fell on the man’s head.

“He received initial treatment from Civil Defence Force at the incident location before he was rushed to Hospital Tuanku Jaafar Seremban (HTJS) to receive further treatment.

“The victim received nine stitches and is currently in a stable condition.”

He said the RMP traffic summons payment counter was open for two days starting yesterday in conjunction with the 2019 NS Fest organised by the state, and held for four days from Thursday.
