IPOH: A Singaporean superbiker was killed and his female pillion rider injured when the high-powered motorcycle they were riding skidded and crashed into the road divider in the Menora Tunnel on the North South Highway (Plus) – northbound – near here, early today.
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel; while the woman, who is also Singaporean, suffered light injuries.
The full identities of the duo have yet to be ascertained.
The marque of the motorcycle they were riding has not been established.
The Meru Raya Fire and Rescue station received an emergency call on the accident at 5.18am, said a spokesman for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department.
He added that rescuers retrieved and handed the superbiker’s remains to the police for further action, and that the rescue operation ended at 6.49am.
