KUALA KANGSAR: About 1,000-strong congregation attended the Surah Yasin recitation and tahlil ceremony in conjunction with Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah’s 62nd birthday at Ubudiah Mosque here today.
Present were Raja Muda Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa and Raja Dihilir Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.
The ceremony started at 12.05pm.
Also present were Menteri Besar, Ahmad Faizal Azumu; state committee chairmen; state Secretary, Zainal Azman Abu Seman; state head of departments and federal; as well as the local people.
Perak deputy Mufti, Zamri Hashim led the ceremony followed by Friday prayer which was led by the Imam of the mosque, Syed Mohamad Hazwan Syed Azman.
The ceremony ended with the feast (kenduri kesyukuran) that was also joined by Raja Jaafar, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain and the congregates. The same program was also organised at all mosques in the state today.
