IPOH: Perak is hoping for a higher allocation to carry out various development projects, especially those related to its infrastructure and also agriculture in 2019 Budget.

State Public Amenities, Infrastructure and Agriculture executive committee chairman Abdul Yunus Jamahri said such allocation was needed for the Pakatan Harapan-led state government to carry out its development agenda.

“We are hoping that special attention will be given to Perak as we need the money to fast track our development agenda next year.

“The federal government must take into consideration the fact that we have an almost equal number of seats among Pakatan Harapan and the opposition here,” he said.

Abdul Yunus, who is also state PKR secretary and Kuala Kurau state assemblyman, said the extra allocation was needed to improve infrastructure in rural areas.

He said the state was also hoping to revive projects beneficial to the people which had been put on hold previously.
