KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan candidate Halimey Abu Bakar arrived at the SK Kampung Lindungan voting centre at 8.40am today accompanied by his mother, wife and younger brother.

His mother, Khalijah Md. Yusuf, who was dressed in a red baju kurung, expressed her pride over her son’s journey so far.

"Alhamdulillah, everything went well this morning after we cast our votes.

"I could not sleep at all last night waiting for today," she told reporters.

Halimey’s brother, Salimey Abu Bakar also cast his ballot here.

The three completed their civic duty within 20 minutes.

However, Halimey’s wife, Suhati Bakri, 45, will cast her vote at Dewan Taman Datuk Hormat in the same area.

Meanwhile, Halimey urged voters to turn up early at polling centres to avoid difficulties.

According to the Election Commission, 12 per cent of registered voters in Seri Setia had turned up as of 9am.

Halimey is going head-to-head with Pas candidate Dr Halimah Ali.
