KUALA LUMPUR: Currently in Turkey for a shoulder surgery, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to return to Malaysia soon.

Anwar's daughter Nurul Izzah however did not disclose the exact date.

"He is well and getting better. He will return to Malaysia. When? I don't know.

"Health is an asset. We can't force a sick person to come home. Yes he will return, we miss him here," the PKR vice president said at a press conference, here, today.

On July 13, Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) cardiologist Prof Datuk Dr Wan Azman Wan Ahmad who had accompanied the PKR de facto leader to Turkey informed that Anwar had succesfully undergone a spinal and shoulder surgery at the Medipol Mega University Hospital in Istanbul.

Anwar was reported to be stable and in recovery.

Prior to that, Anwar was admitted to UMMC after complaining of back and shoulder pains upon his return from Turkey.

He was then flown back to Turkey for a follow-up surgery.

Earlier, Nurul Izzah witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the MyHeart 3 programme between the National Heart Institute (IJN) and the MyPrihatin Foundation.
