IPOH: Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming has said he respects the decision made by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to drop his name from the Cabinet list.

Nga said he accepted the decision and that he will leave the matter to Dr Mahathir and the party’s leadership.

“I respect him as a senior statesman. I am not disappointed and I will continue to fight for the people. I also urge Malaysians to keep supporting the newly appointed ministers.

“I have full confidence in the leadership of Tun Mahathir, who is the most experienced Prime Minister. He will be able to fulfil the people’s wishes and implement all promises made by Pakatan Harapan during 14th General Election (GE14),” he said.

Nga said this during a press conference after attending the first term 14th Perak state legislative assembly at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.

During GE14, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng had told Teluk Intan voters that Nga would be made a minister if the latter won the seat and PH formed the Federal Government.

DAP made a clean sweep of the 18 state seats it contested in Perak, compared to Parti Amanah Negara which won six seats, PKR (four), and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), one.
