SEREMBAN: The giant-sized 1Malaysia logo has been taken down from the Negri Sembilan Urban Transformation Centre in Plaza Angsana in Ampangan.

Checks by the New Straits Times Press at 11am today showed two cranes being used to bring down the logo.

It took at least an hour for the work to be completed.

The 1Malaysia concept was launched in 2009 by then prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

However, the new Pakatan Harapan government under Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had decided to do away with it.

In Negri Sembilan, there is only one large 1Malaysia logo, at the UTC which was opened by Najib on Nov 29, last year.

The UTC places various government agencies in one location for the people’s ease. At the one here, such agencies include the Road Transport and Immigration departments, Seremban Municipal Council, Tabung Haji, Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan, a medical clinic and a dental clinic.

The Negri Sembilan UTC also has 16 lots for various businesses.
