KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has expressed his sadness over the landslide in Tanjung Bungah, Penang that occurred this morning via Twitter.

“Saddened with the landslide in Tanjung Bungah. Hoping that the search and rescue efforts will be carried out smoothly, let us pray together,” the Twitter post said.

Earlier this morning, a landslide occurred at a construction site, where two 49-floor condominium towers are being built.

Three people died, 10 remain missing and two survived in the landslide. Most of those buried were believed to be foreign workers, said officials.

One Malaysian, the construction site supervisor, was also believed to be buried as well.

The cause of the landslide has yet to be determined.
