TAWAU: The High Court today rejected the bail application of seven students from Lahad Datu Vocational College charged with murdering a 17-year-old male student on March 22.

Judge Datuk Duncan Sikodol made the decision after hearing the application submitted by lawyer Datuk Ram Singh, who represented all the accused, this morning.

They were among 13 students jointly charged on April 2 with murdering Mohamad Nazmie Aizzat Mohd Narul Azwan in Dormitory Room 7 Resak and 5 Belian, Lahad Datu Vocational College, between 9pm on March 21 to 7.38am on March 22.

If convicted under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, they face the death penalty or a life term of up 40 years in prison and 12 strokes of the rotan.
